The Caustic Soda manufacture located in Iraq, Basra Governorate, in the oil fields area of Al-Bargesiah, on an area of 45 dunums. The productivity of the plant reaches 120 tons per day at concentrations ranging from 5% to 70%. We have different kinds of mixing like mix Sodium Hydroxide with water 50-52%. Caustic Soda, caustic, alkali, and lye are all common names for sodium hydroxide (NaOH). It is used in most water-base muds to increase and maintain pH and alkalinity. It is a hazardous material to handle because it is very caustic and gives off heat when dissolved in water. Proper training and equipment are needed to handle it safely.
Packaging and storage
Caustic soda is packaged in 50-lbm [22.7-kg], multiwall paper sacks with plastic liners. Other packaging includes fiberboard or steel drums of various sizes as well as other sack sizes. Store at room temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep in original container. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks, and flames. Store away from incompatibles.
